In 2021, over 700 organizations have participated in the three Technical Specification Groups and their fifteen Working Groups. Physical meetings can be attended by as many as a thousand experts, all working towards agreement on solutions that will allow future systems and user equipment to work together.
The 3GPP groups are making key decisions on which solution is adopted at any given time. The progress of a company contribution can be delayed and even jeopardised if the work is not properly represented as consensus found within the group.
